The Best Medicine

Sprite (Almost 2 Years Old)
Me- Age (Almost) 2

I often find it hard to live in the moment. I think this is because I love to plan and organize things so much. I love planning things, and even though I know that I cannot control the future, I love to plan future events, even if I know that there is a slim chance they will actually happen.

The problem is that if I focus on the future too much, I won't be paying attention to right now at all. Or, I will begin to worry about the future, unless everything is working out just as I planned.

When I feel like I am "living in the moment" most is when I laugh REALLY hard. When something is hysterically funny, It's hard not to focus on whatever is funny, and focus on that moment alone!

Speaking of laughing... *haha* I LOVE the sound of children laughing. When I hear the sound of a true, genuine laugh from a child, it seems like life couldn't be better. I love how kids laugh! Really, I feel the same way when I hear teenagers and adults laughing, but I don't hear laughter quite the same from older people. Too many teenagers I have met are just "too cool" to laugh, and many adults don't make time for laughter. It's so sad :( Kids let it out, though. Which ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF! Lol, my co-workers give me a hard time at the Church where I work sometimes. (I do childcare) I will be with a child playing with some goofy baby toy, and whichever little person I am with will be cracking up, and I'm laughing just as hard with them. The other adults whom I work with find it humorous that I can be entertained with a silly baby toy, and a little laughing boy or girl for so long :)

<3... Planning ahead is a good thing, and living in the moment is a good thing, but finding a happy medium seems to be the best. So plan ahead, and always find time to laugh. If something TOTALLY cracks you up, don't feel like an idiot & try to refrain from laughing... you are missing out on an indescribable opportunity :)

The whole planning and worrying thing you were talking about--I'm with you word-for-word. It's amazing how similar we are. I love making lists and organizing things! I need to work on the worrying, though.

But I ALSO love to laugh. You should know I don't hold back. LOL

I love children, too! I see a cute baby and I'm like "OHHH!!! Isn't she cuuuute!"
